ALIFUN

The ALIFUN project, funded under the industrial research and experimental development program for the Smart Specialization Areas mandated by the National Research Program (PNR), is managed through a public-private partnership coordinated by the National Research Council (CNR). The project operates through six targeted key studies designed to cover the core agri-food sectors of the Mediterranean diet (dairy, cereal/grain, meat products and derivatives, fruit and vegetable, olive oil, and wine production). This architectural framework allowed for the seamless alignment of corporate innovation requirements with the high-level scientific and technological know-how provided by the CNR and partner institutions. ALIFUN’s strategic objective is the development of advanced functional foods. The project is positioned within a sector of exponential growth, representing a state-of-the-art intersection between food science, human health, and applied nutrition.
