BBMRI.it is the national infrastructure that connects Italian biobanks in a coordinated network aligned with the European standards of the Biobanking and BioMolecular Resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium (BBMRI-ERIC), a landmark of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI), comprising 20 Full Member States and 5 States with Observer status. Through collaboration among public institutions, universities, clinical centers, and industry, BBMRI.it provides access to high-quality biological samples and associated data, essential for biomedical research and the development of personalized medicine. The initiative promotes scientific excellence, innovation, and growth within the research–health ecosystem, while ensuring full compliance with ethical and data protection regulations. BBMRI.it enables responsible resource sharing among researchers, accelerates the creation of new knowledge, and supports the translation of scientific results into tangible benefits for citizens and public health.
