Disorders of Chromatin & Transcriptional Regulation: Cohesin and Beyond

Fifth Informal Meeting

adapted from Yin and Wang, Development 2014
This fifth informal meeting will provide a forum for the presentations of papers on the latest developments in cohesin and transcriptional biology and the expanding group of associated clinical disorders (including: Cornelia de Lange, Rubinstein-Taybi , Kabuki, and other related syndromes & cancers) This meeting provides a unique opportunity to bring international groups working in this rapidly expanding and evolving field together in a relaxed and collegial atmosphere. The registration fee is 500 euro and covers hotel accommodations and meals for faculty participants. In addition, for up to 15 postdoctoral and graduate students and other trainees (who are encouraged to attend), the registration will be 350 euro, through the generous support of the CNR (Trainees are still responsible for their own travel expenses).
After the exciting meetings on “Cohesin Biology and the Cohesinopathies”, we have decided to organize the symposium on “Disorders of Chromatin and Transcriptional Regulation: Cohesin & Beyond” in Certosa of Pontignano (Siena, https://www.lacertosadipontignano.com/en/certosa/certosa.php) Italy from May 12-15, 2023. The goal of the symposium is to bring together physicians and scientists studying the transcriptional mechanisms involved in developmental syndromes (including Cornelia de Lange syndrome, Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, KBG syndrome, CHOPS syndrome and other related diagnoses and cancers).  In order to be responsive, abstract submissions should focus on basic mechanisms (both mitotic and meiotic cohesin), syndromes and cancer caused by disruption of cohesin activity, chromatin remodeling, transcriptional initiation, pausing, elongation and DNA repair pathways.  The symposium will be informal organized around a number of formal presentations as well as interactive group discussions. The registration fee is 500 euro for up to 30 faculty participants and 350 euro for up to 15 postdoctoral and graduate students. The fee covers meals and accommodation expenses. Registration is limited to 45 people and will be on a first come first serve basis. Abstract submission and acceptance is mandatory and the deadline is March 20, 2023.
