The main objectives of this proposal are to gain insight into the cross-kingdom anticancer effects of selected miRNAs in grape (Vitis vinifera) and to set up a protocol to deliver these molecules by using PDNVs and a novel tool to load them using electroporation methods. The proposal is structured into 3 Work Packages (WPs) and relies on the collaboration of 3 partners. WP1 focuses on the bioinformatics and omics selection and validation of Vitis vinifera miRNAs with human health relevance and cross-kingdom bioactivity. WP2 focuses on the isolation and characterization of PDNVs from grapes and their enrichment in miRNA by electroporation. WP3 focuses on the in vitro and in vivo analysis of the anticancer properties of the selected miRNAs delivered in native form or loaded in PDNVs.
