Andrea Manconi received his PhD degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy. Currently, he is researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Technologies of the National Research Council of Italy where he is conducting research activities in the area of bioinformatics. His research activities concern the development of high-performance- and cloud-based-computing solutions for bioinformatics. He gained skills in GPGPU, cloud architectures and artificial intelligence.
He is also ordinary member of the Bioinformatics Italian Society (BITS).
