Domenico Catalano

Molecular biologist with scientific interests in "omics" sciences. In 1996 he starts a scientific collaboration in bioinformatics with CNR Bari group; here he gain a considerable experience in bioinformatic analysis of omics data. From 2008 to 2014 researcher at at the Institute of Germplasm now the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources (CNR-IBBR) of the CNR; at IBBR he worked as bioinformatic developing the Mediterranean Germplasm Database (MGD), a database dedicated to storage and analyses of molecular biodiversity data related to the collection of the germplasm (seed) conserved in the IBBR. In the 2014 he moved at Institute of Biomedical Technologies (CNR-ITB) where he have interest in epigenetics and in particular on the regulative role of the non-coding RNA fraction (ncRNA) of the genome in several physio-pathological state. He have interest in Molecular biology and in bioinformatic studies on the non-coding RNA fractions (ncRNA) and in studies of plants XenoMiRs involved in the cross talk between plant and human cells .
